Feature Stories

Armstrong

Armstrong is poised just outside of Wabakimi Provincial Park, making it the last stop for paddlers headed to this enormous wilderness area or into the surrounding region. It is possible to drive the dirt roads from Armstrong to lakes bordering Wabakimi, but the town is also the base for air and rail service directly into the park. Armstrong’s greatest strength is this location; it has stores to meet your basic needs and lodging in the surrounding area, but the town itself is barebones, so come prepared to journey into the wilderness.
