Expedition Canoeing Roundtable Discussion Panel
Have a question that you'd love to ask an expert wilderness paddler? Ask a panel of four of the most well-known wilderness canoeists at this year's Expo! The panel includes respected authors and travellers Kevin Callan and Cliff Jacobson, Bob O’Hara, and Rob Kesserling, whose talks, books, and guided trips have inspired thousands. All four have won their knowledge from a lifetime of experience, and, of course, mistakes. Come with your questions and xpect a wealth of wisdom (maybe even humor) that will be vital for your next canoe adventure.
Watch the experts show off different canoes, and try before you buy - the first paddle sports demo of the season (weather permitting) is at (time and location TBD) This is your chance to try out new canoes and kayaks direct from the manufacturer. Factory reps will be on hand with trailers full of canoes, kayaks, paddles, and stand up paddleboards, all for you to try. It's the best way to experience how a canoe tracks, lifts for weight and comfort, and best of all, you can ask the experts all about the crafts. Important: the demo is for new boats only, and does not include boats from the auction. Find out more about the Paddlesports Demo day HERE >
The World's Largest Canoe and Kayak Auction
Amongst the local paddlers, this auction is legend. Bid on everything from last-year's models to been-there-done-that boats. If you're a new paddler, it's a great place to find a deal -- if you're an addicted paddle-head, you might find that special treasure for your collection.
The world’s largest canoe and kayak auction takes place at 11am on Saturday across the street from the big-top tents at Midwest Mountaineering. Over the years we've seen some amazing deals and great buys on used canoes and kayaks - plus, nothing is more fun than watching the bidding over a rare find. Bring your canoe or kayak between 7-9am to register it for sale. Canoe and Kayak inspection begins at 10am. Find out more HERE >
