Possible to have the New Posts icon update?

I enter a forum. I read the posts. I return to the main directory and that forum shows as having new posts when there are none.

It appears that the code gathers that info only at login, not when the page is refreshed. The refresh looks like just a cache hit.

Hi Preacher,

I've noticed that the icon may not change unless I am logged in, and then refresh the screen. Are you able to stay 'logged in' throughout the use of the forum, or is your login timing out? Does the icon change if you refresh the screen? Which browser are you viewing the site on?

Never any problems being timed out.
F5 - refresh doesn't change anything.
