35-day route in BWCA options wanted

Looking for ideas to a newbie in the BWCA for a 35 day route starting Sept 1- Oct 5thish 08?
Dont plan to go over into canada due to the 16-20$ a night camping fees in Quetico...so I will stay on the us side.
Thought for running a route all the way to grand portage and back with a few inner small loop routes. any suggestion from you all would be helpful

Do you have someone set up to drop off supplies once in a while? That kind of thing might determine your route.
